APPLY TO RRCC

CANADIAN STUDENTS

  • Complete the online Application for Admission. Before you begin the application, you will be prompted to create your STAR ID and password. You can also print and mail the application. If you complete a paper application and mail it in, you will need to activate your STAR ID. Be sure to check International Visa Holder or Seeker-type: F1 Non-immigrant Academic Student.
  • Pay the $20 application fee.
  • Submit official high school and post-secondary (if applicable) transcripts to RRCC.
  • Submit your Immunization Record.
    • All public and private colleges and universities must provide information to all first-time enrollees on the transmission, treatment, and prevention of hepatitis A, B, and C, as well as on the risk of meningococcal disease and the availability of meningococcal vaccine. This information can be obtained by visiting Hepatitis and Meningitis Notification.
  • Provide a letter stating you have sufficient funds to cover all costs for the entire academic year.
  • Once the application process is complete, the Admissions office will issue you a Form I-20 "Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status"
  • Upon receipt of Form I-20, you will need to pay the I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement by going to fmjfee.com.
    • Note: A $50 mailing fee will be charged if the application is completed less than 30 days prior to the student's intended arrival date.

ALL OTHER INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

  • Complete the online Application for Admission. Before you begin the application, you will be prompted to create your STAR ID and password. You can also print and mail the application. If you complete a paper application and mail it in, you will need to activate your STAR ID. Be sure to check International Visa Holder or Seeker-type: F1 Non-immigrant Academic Student.
  • Pay the $20 application fee.
  • Complete the International Student Agreement and Financial Statement.
    • If you are from a non-English speaking country, or graduated from a non-English speaking school, you must submit proof of English proficiency. RRCC requires a score of 61 on the internet based TOEFL examination ( http://www.ets.org/toefl/). RRCC’s TOEFL code is 6613.
  • Once the application process is complete, pay the $50 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) mailing fee. The Admissions office will issue you a Form I-20 "Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status".
  • Upon receipt of Form I-20, you will need to pay the I-901SEVIS fee to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement by going to fmjfee.com

COURSE PLACEMENT

All new students are required to provide one of the following:

  • current (within the previous three years) scores. RRCC's ACT code is 2117), or
  • SAT scores, or
  • MCA scores (if you attended a Minnesota High School), or
  • transcripts from a transfer college or university, or
  • placement test scores. The Accuplacer Computerized Placement Test is an assessment in reading comprehension and mathematics which RRCC uses to determine how your skill levels meet course prerequisites, helping to ensure your success in college.

  • Our professional advisors are here to help you make the best decisions and ensure you are on-track to meet your academic goals. After you have completed the placement test, make an appointment to register (in person or via telephone) by calling 218.285.7722 | 800.456.3996. You can register with your advisor or online through your e-Services account.

PAY YOUR TUITION

  • Payment of tuition and housing should be made before the start of the academic semester. Students who have not paid or made appropriate payment arrangements (financial aid or payment plan) may be dropped from classes.
  • To help you meet your educational expenses, we are proud to offer the RRCC Payment Plan – a convenient, interest free, payment plan. This is NOT a loan program. You have no debt, there are no interest or finance charges and there is no credit check.
