Coach Dieter Humbert enters his 17th season as Head Coach of the Voyageur Softball Program. Coach Humbert brings a wealth of tradition to Rainy River athletics. In addition to coaching Softball, he currently will be entering his 28th season of Womens Basketball and has coached Men’s Basketball 4 seasons totaling 47 seasons over 32 years.

The program under Coach Humbert’s leadership has earned 10 NJCAA Region 13B tournament berths, 3 MCAC Northern Division Championships, 5 MCAC Northern Division Runners-Up, 2 NJCAA Region 13B Championships, a 6th place NJCAA Division III National Tournament finish and a 3rd Place NJCAA Division III National Tournament finish! Coach Humbert has been selected four times as the MCAC Northern Division Coach of the Year and twice has been selected as the NJCAA Region 13B Coach of the Year.

Dieter played college basketball for Rainy River Community College and Minnesota State University-Moorhead and his team was recently inducted into the Minnesota State University-Moorhead Hall of Fame for qualifying for the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri in 1980.

Coach Humbert earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Distributive Education, Vocational and Coaching Certification from Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

Coach Humbert is proud of the many Alumni that have gone on to graduate with their Bachelors degrees and beyond with more than 50 currently in education alone.

Ultimately, Coach Humbert’s goal is to develop his players into becoming the best version of themselves as a person, student and athlete. Coach Humbert says what he truly delights in is the journey and watching these young ladies develop into tomorrow’s amazing leaders!
